34 sleeps and counting
With three young grandchildren Christmas here at Tregongeeves is a special time. This year we will be hosting here at Tregongeeves – which is very exciting and the highlight of the festive time. Of course as well as feeding the family I still have to get up no matter what day of the year it is and make sure Alice the shetland has her carrots, the horses are all okay and that the rest of the animal gang have everything they need – I might even treat Alice to a polo or two on Chrsitmas day!
It’s not too late to enjoy a Cornish Christmas – we have a couple of cottages available over the festive period, so if you fancy a unique and magical break from it all why not come and stay. Each cottage has it’s own tree and decorations so you don’t even have to think about putting up a tree.
This weekend saw a number of cottages taken up by a families 40th Birthday party – it was wonderful seeing all the generations in the pool together. We are ideal for family groups who each want their own space but also want to have one location to come together.
Today I was treated to lunch in Charlestown at the newly opened Long Store. The stunning building has views out across the sea. With Cornwall being battled by Storm Angus it was wonderful to be down by the sea watching the angry sea whilst in the warm and eating delicious food. After lunch we went down to the harbour to get a better view of the crashing waves and take a peek at the old toilets that have recently been converted into a house that appeared on George Clark’s Amazing Spaces. It is very interesting to look at. The last time I went to Charlestown they were filming Poldark – I wonder when Ross will return again?
